THE HI-POD - offering a complete storage, collection, transport and treatment solution for hazardous wastes throughout the UK.

The Hi-Pod is a safe, secure and covered storage unit that can be sited anywhere in the UK.

The Hi-Pod is a one stop solution for hazardous waste collection and treatment and our service includes the provision of the container, the relevant paperwork, the transport of the waste and also the treatment and recycling of the hazardous waste from the Hi-Pod.

The 1100litre, moulded plastic Hi-Pod has wheels and offers the flexibility to be easily moved around the site to go to the point of waste production, unlike a skip where you need to take the waste to it. The Hi-Pod also comes with custom built inserts for forks to enable fork lift trucks to move them around when terrain is too rough to use the Hi-Pod's wheels.

Typically the types of waste we receive in Hi-Pods include:

• Oily rags

• Absorbent pads and spill mats

• Oil filters

• Spill granules

• Oil contaminated plastics, paper, wood and metal

The Hi-Pod is ideal for any oil contaminated wastes but at Hitech we can also handle materials such as ink, paint, adhesive, dyes, etc and to this end we are comfortable with items such as used paint tins, grease cartridges, etc. being contained within the Hi-Pod. Should you produce large quantities of such material, we would suggest a specific Hi-Pod to facilitate segregation.

The treatment offered by Hitech for hazardous waste is indeed unique. We were the proud recipients of the CIWM award for Innovative Practice in 2006 and capped a wonderful year by being awarded the 2006 National Recycling Award for Waste Minimisation Project of the Year. This type of industry recognition rewards our efforts over the last years. At Hitech we are keen to reduce landfill disposal and all our treatments are aimed at achieving this.

While Hi-Pod is the part that is seen to the industrial world, behind the scenes, the hazardous waste treatments developed by Hitech are the result of years of experience in the waste industry coupled with a genuine desire to improve our environment. At Hitech we actually treat the waste that we accept - we "third party" very little waste, focussing more on the types of waste that we can physically treat on our IPPC licensed facility in Paisley.
